Concept
The Werribee Montessori Childcare Centre currently operates out of a retro-fitted house to service a modest number of students. After acquiring the adjoining property, Blur was approached to design a purpose-built facility to respond to the growing demand for childcare places.
The design responds to this methodology by actively integrating indoor-outdoor learning with a focus on a softer, more ‘naturalised’ palette. The architecture responds to the sites context by addressing the corner and incorporates a gently sloping roof form to draw light into the space.
